Run 100 km in September

I'm running 100 km in September

I'm on a mission to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and I can’t do it alone. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target.

Will you join me in making a difference? 🙌

Together, we can make it happen! 💪

Moms journey

Monday 25th Aug

As many of you know, my mom has faced different types of skin cancer over the years. Before a recent trip to South Africa, we had another scare. After a few A&E visits, doctors initially thought it was just her lymph nodes. But thanks to my sister pushing for further opinions, it was confirmed as cancer. After surgery, mom had 13 lymph nodes removed, and the cancer was found in them. We’ve been told her chances are 50/50 of living beyond five years – but deep down I know my mom. She’s a fighter, and without a doubt she’ll be in that 50 percent who beats this.

Following surgery, my mom needed six weeks of daily treatment – and she’s amazed even the doctors with how incredibly strong she’s been throughout.

This September, mom will be taking on a 30-mile walk, which is a huge achievement for her. Any support on her Cancer Research page would mean the world.

As for me, I’ll be taking on 100 miles for Macmillan. It feels extreme, especially since I can’t remember the last time I properly exercised, but whether I run or walk, I’ll complete it. This challenge isn’t only for my mom, but also in memory of Louise, who was like a second mom to me, and for so many others who have lost their lives or are still fighting this disease.
