Running 100km in September for Macmillan – In Memory of My Dad, Steven Maddocks 💚

In December 2010, just before Christmas, I lost my dad, Steven Maddocks. It was one of the hardest times of my life. The support we received from nurses and carers, including Macmillan, made an incredible difference for my family.

Back in 2011, I took on the Milton Keynes Half Marathon to raise money in my dad’s memory. I only managed to raise £15 back then, which was disappointing, and ever since, I’ve wanted to come back and do more. This year, I finally feel ready.

In 2025, I have been training hard to prepare for something I never thought I would be able to do. I am challenging myself to run 100 kilometres in just one month for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is my way of honouring my dad’s memory and giving something back to a charity that helps so many families like ours.

My goal is to raise £150 this time. It may not seem like much, but together we can make a huge difference. Every donation, no matter how small, will help Macmillan continue their incredible work. They provide vital support to people affected by cancer and their loved ones when they need it the most.

Next year, my journey continues. I am running the King’s Lynn GEAR 10K on 3rd May 2026 and then heading straight back to Milton Keynes to take on the half marathon the very next day. That will be 15 years after I first ran it for my dad, which makes it even more special.

If you can, please support me on this journey. Whether it is £1 or £10, every contribution helps. If you cannot donate, sharing my page would mean just as much.

This run is for my dad. 💚
This run is for every family facing cancer.
This run is for Macmillan.

Thank you for your support. It means the world to me and my family.
